Mast launches new Seeplex PCR system

18th March 2009

Mast has announced the launch of a new platform allowing access to a range of pathogens without the need to utilise older methods.

The Seeplex multiplex PCR range has been developed through a partnership with Seegene and claims to offer scientists a simplified approach to assay systems.

It is hoped the product will offer users a novel way to access pathogens without the need to rely on older methods such as electrophoresis or "expensive, dedicated real-time instruments".

Howard Rose, managing director of Mast Diagnostics, said he was pleased with what the Seeplex Multiplex PCR range could now offer.

"We are delighted to have the opportunity to partner with Seegene so our customers can benefit from this leading-edge multiplex molecular technology," he added.

The platform will be launched alongside 12 kits for viruses and bacterial pathogens for a number of sexually transmitted infections, including the human papilloma virus.

Earlier this month, Mast appeared at the Scottish Microbiology Association meeting – where a number of its products were exhibited.
