MDS adopt new SAS tool

17th June 2008

MDS Analytical Technologies has adopted the SAS drug development tool to provide a central integrated system for clinical research.

The tool implemented across MDS’ Pharma Services will aid the managing, analysing, reporting and reviewing of clinical research data from the pre-clinical line of business to integrate worldwide flows.

David Spaight, Pharma Services president, said: "This powerful tool will significantly improve our internal operational efficiency and enhance our ability to provide quality, on-time service to clients at all phases of their drug development process."

The firm claims the system will enable it the chance to offer its medium to large pharmaceutical clients the ability to combine previous data from a variety of sources and convert it to a common format and analyse it to identify safety issues.

MDS claims to be a leading global supplier of life sciences tools.

It is comprised of two main brands, Sciex for mass spectrometry and Molecular Devices for bioanalytical measurement systems.
