Medtronic launches new Divergence Stand Alone Interbody Cage

6th May 2015

Medtronic has announced the launch of its new Divergence Stand Alone Interbody Cage during the annual meeting of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.

The device is being made commercially available for the treatment of anterior cervical interbody fusion procedures in skeletally mature patients with cervical disc disease at one level from the C2-C3 disc to the C7-T1 disc.

This all-in-one fusion device offers internal screw fixation, allowing for maximum distance from the adjacent level disc, as well as utilising a divergent screw technique to reduce retraction and incision.

It also features a cortical cancellous thread design to help maximise bone screw purchase, while supporting both straight and angled instrumentation.

Doug King, president of the spinal business and senior vice-president of Medtronic, said: "This system represents Medtronic's commitment to responding to surgeon needs, and innovating in ways that improve patient treatment and care."

The company will be presenting further new product insights at the forthcoming Heart Rhythm Society annual scientific sessions in Boston later this month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801786449-ADNFCR
