Medtronic names new clinical research and analytics head
Medtronic has announced the appointment of Dr Laura Mauri as its new vice-president for global clinical research and analytics.
Dr Mauri is currently an interventional cardiologist and clinical researcher at the Brigham and Women's Hospital, who serves as professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, and will bring considerable scientific and clinical expertise to her new role at Medtronic.
She will be tasked with directing the company's global clinical research strategies, while leading the development of novel analytical and data science solutions, and spearheading initiatives supporting the company's value-based healthcare strategies.
Dr Mauri will officially assume her new role on September 1st, reporting to chief medical and scientific officer Dr Rick Kuntz. The appointment is expected to leverage her clinical trial leadership and deep domain expertise in medical technology evaluation and clinical research methodology.
