Medtronic ranked in Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for third year

17th September 2013

Medtronic has announced that it has been included in the 2013 Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, one of the world's most prestigious sustainability benchmarks.

The company has been included in the list for the third year in a row following analysis of a variety of sustainability criteria, including economic performance, environmental stewardship and social responsibility.

In recent years, Medtronic has helped to spearhead humanitarian projects such as the Healthy Heart for All programme in India, which aims to broaden access to care for critical cardiac therapies through the provision of affordable diagnosis and treatment services.

It is also dedicated to conserving natural resources, promoting energy efficiency and eliminating waste, having concluded its first set of five-year environmental goals in 2013.

Medtronic's inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index comes after the company also received recognition from FTSE4Good earlier this year.

The firm employs more than 46,000 people worldwide and distributes its products in around 140 countries.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801638440-ADNFCR
