Memac Ogilvy appoints new technology head

10th December 2012

Memac Ogilvy has announced the appointment of Mark Jackson as its new head of technology, leading a team of 12 tech PR specialists.

He joins the agency from his previous role of corporate head of Lucre and will be based in Memac Ogilvy's Bahrain office, serving clients including IBM, LG and Philips, reports PRWeek.

The position has been newly created due to the agency's desire to put more emphasis on building a dedicated technology practice, in response to growing trends across the industry and society as a whole.

Capitalising on the agency's existing technology heritage, Mr Jackson will be implementing training in social media and a number of other relevant areas.

He said: "A liberalisation of the media is slowly taking place and social media are becoming more important. It's an interesting time to be involved in the development of PR."

Memac Ogilvy was founded in 1984 and has offices spanning the Middle East and North Africa, with other high-profile clients including Coca-Cola, American Express, Castrol and Kotex.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801504948-ADNFCR
