Merck agrees international distribution deal with Avanti Polar Lipids

Merck has announced a new international distribution agreement with the US life science company Avanti Polar Lipids.

Under the terms of the agreement, Merck will act as the exclusive multinational distributor of the company's research lipids portfolio outside the US, leveraging its sales, marketing and ecommerce expertise to broaden the product range's reach on a global basis.

Avanti Polar Lipids will continue to service customers via its own channels in the US, with the deal giving non-American customers enhanced, on-demand access to the Avanti research lipid portfolio through Merck's SigmaAldrich.com ecommerce platform, as well as through its regional inventory and company sales representatives.

The transition of the approximately 2,000 products covered by the agreement is expected to be completed in early 2018. In the interim, these products will continue to be available through existing Avanti Polar Lipids channels.
