Merck KGaA reviews UK PR strategy for Seven Seas

Merck KGaA is seeking a new UK PR partner for its consumer health brand Seven Seas.

Final-stage talks are already taking place with a number of agencies about the work, which will encompass consumer and trade activity and will help Seven Seas to reach a broader demographic range, reports PRWeek.

Seven Seas is best known for its cod liver oil supplements, as well as the JointCare, Multibionta and Haliborange brands. It currently works with Virgo Health on PR activities in the UK.

An agency source said the aim of the new pitch is to "make the scientific case" for the brand's various products, while adding: "A big part of the brief is more lifestyle-focused and bringing down the age of its consumers."

Merck KGaA is one of the world's biggest pharmaceutical and chemical companies. It acquired the UK-based Seven Seas business in 1996.
