Merck launches Milli-Q IQ 7000 water purification system
Merck has announced the launch of its new seventh-generation Milli-Q water purification system, called the Milli-Q IQ 7000.
Launching globally, the new device is smaller and easier to use than previous iterations, offering ergonomic design elements and a compact footprint to help labs declutter their workspaces.
It features mercury-free UV lamps for the photoxidation of organic contaminants, purification cartridges that are 33 percent smaller than previous versions, and a high-definition digital touchscreen similar to a mobile phone display to make usage as simple as possible.
The system can also interface effortlessly with lab networks through an integrated data management system, with custom reporting features and a global system data archive aiding traceability within a paperless environment.
Udit Batra, member of the Merck executive board and chief executive officer for life science, said: "Today's scientists continue to seek ways to improve reproducibility and reliability of data. Our customers are looking for compact, ergonomic systems and software so that they can advance science, further faster."
The device will replace the existing benchtop Milli-Q Advantage A10 systems and will be available for purchase in April 2017.
