Merck Millipore launches Snap i.d. 2.0 system for protein detection

3rd November 2014

Merck Millipore has announced the launch of a highly efficient new protein detection system for immunohistochemistry applications.

The Snap i.d. 2.0 system streamlines immunohistochemistry workflows and significantly decreases slide handling time. It enables parallel processing of up to 24 tissue slides at a time, making it easier to apply consistent conditions and reduce potential process variability.

It has been designed to offer an intuitive format that reduces slide handling and speed wash steps during blocking, washing, antibody incubation and labelling, with a controlled vacuum force removing solutions evenly from all slides simultaneously and rapidly.

This system is compatible with standard immunohistochemistry slides and protocols, as well as diverse tissue preparations such as formalin-fixed or fresh frozen samples.

Dr Patrick Schneider, head of bioscience at Merck Millipore, said: "Because this vacuum-driven system minimises slide handling, it saves researchers time and resources by reducing process variability and conserving valuable samples and reagents."

The company recently announced a deal to acquire fellow life science company Sigma-Aldrich, a move that will greatly expand both companies' global capabilities and reach.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801758188-ADNFCR
