Merck relaunches customer collaboration centres with new concept and name
Merck has announced the relaunch of its global network of customer collaboration centres with a new concept and name.
Formerly known as biomanufacturing science training centres, the new state-of-the art M Lab Collaboration Centers aim to provide a simulated manufacturing environment for experiments, troubleshooting and problem-solving in a non-GMP setting.
Customers can participate in product demonstrations, hands-on training and proof-of-concept work, as well as applying best practices and exploring new approaches to developing, optimising and scaling up their processes.
The first remodelled centre was launched in Tokyo on June 29th, with the network also including locations in Brazil, China, France, India, Singapore, South Korea and the US. The formal relaunch will continue throughout the remainder of 2016 and 2017.
Through the use of the centres, scientists and engineers will be able to solve key biomanufacturing challenges and accelerate the development of new therapies.
Udit Batra, member of the Merck Executive Board and chief executive officer for life science, said: "We are creating unique and inspiring settings where customers can explore new ways to increase productivity and improve processes in close collaboration with our team of experts."
