Merck Sharp and Dohme adds 3M boss to board of directors

Merck Sharp and Dohme has announced the appointment of Inge Thulin as the newest member of its board of directors, effective as of March 1st 2018.

Mr Thulin, the chairman, president and chief executive officer of 3M, will stand for election with Merck's other directors in connection at the annual meeting of shareholders on May 22nd. With his addition, the Merck board will include 14 members.

In his role at 3M, Mr Thulin leads one of the world's largest science-driven businesses. He has been with the organisation since 1979, since which time he has assumed several key roles of increasing responsibility.

During his career, he has been presented with the Peter G Peterson Business Statesmanship Award from the Committee for Economic Development, as well as the Lucia Trade Award from the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce and the Hendrickson Medal for Ethical Leadership.
