Merck Sharpe and Dohme elects new president
Merck Sharpe and Dohme has selected Kenneth Frazier as its new president as part of a number of senior management appointments.
Mr Frazier, who is currently president of the company’s global human health worldwide sales and marketing division, takes over the role from Richard Clark.
The new president is credited with helping to drive the company to greater sales success in recent years, as well as for playing a key part in organising Merck Sharpe and Dohme’s recent merger with Schering Plough.
Mr Clark said: “Merck’s board and I have the utmost confidence in Ken’s ability to help navigate Merck during a time of unprecedented change and enormous opportunity in the global healthcare industry.”
The company also confirmed that Mr Clark will remain as its chairman and chief executive officer, while Adam Schechter steps into Mr Frazier’s former role as president of global human health.
Earlier this week, it was announced that Merck Sharpe and Dohme is to collaborate with Nycomed on the promotion and distribution of the drug Daxas in the UK and Europe.
