Merial launches new Certifect tick control product

12th August 2011

Merial has announced the US availability of Certifect, a new product for use in the prevention of tick-borne diseases among domestic animals.

The newest addition to the company's Frontline flea and tick control range is a topical formulation that can be applied to a dog's neck, killing ticks within 18 hours of administration.

This turnaround time compares favourably to other leading products and can also help to disrupt the flea life cycle, thus preventing the spread of conditions including Lyme disease and anaplasmosis.

Merial is launching Certifect in the US this month to counter the growing risk posed by tick-borne illnesses, with the product designed to begin killing all stages of tick within six hours.

Dr Mike Murray, technical marketing director for Merial, said: "Pet owners and their dogs can really benefit from the new tick-killing power of Certifect."

In June 2011, the firm's UK division announced that John Schofield, who works for Merial's operations in the north-west of England, was presented with a sales professional of the year title at the British Excellence in Sales and Marketing Awards.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800698705-ADNFCR
