Mettler Toledo launches new low-level oxygen sensor
Mettler Toldeo has announced the launch of a new generation of sensor for trace levels of oxygen for the brewing industry.
InPro6950 features four-electrode measuring technology, extending the established Clark sensor technology with an additional reference and guard electrode, reports the company.
Changing the electrochemical reactions within the sensor to prevent any silver chloride precipitation in the electrolyte, the reference electrode ensures that maintenance intervals are prolonged and signal stability remains "outstanding" during the operation, according to Mettler Toledo.
The company also reports that the guard electrode protects the oxygen measurement from side diffusion effects that could cause fluctuations in readings, thereby allowing the sensor to determine oxygen concentrations down to trace level.
Substantial reduction of maintenance costs and effort is possible through the design of the InPro6950 allowing rapid fail-safe servicing and replacement of interior body, states Mettler Toledo.
Last month, the company announced the launch of a thermogravimetric and heat flow measurement system.
