Mettler Toledo launches new metal detector
Mettler Toledo has introduced a new metal detector for use in safeguarding nutraceutical and pharmaceutical tablets from contamination.
The new Tablex 2 utilises "enhanced filtering techniques with core advanced coil technology to deliver sensitivity to all metal types", according to the company – which allows the high-speed inspection of capsules and tablets discharged from moulding presses.
Contaminated products are automatically removed by a lift-flap reject mechanism or integrated side-diverter after tablets and capsules are slid through the metal detector head.
Mettler Toledo’s new detector systems are OPC-compliant, can fit into any press output configuration and are designed to be connected to manufacturing data management systems to allow remote monitoring and operation.
People in science sales jobs may be interested in the new system from Mettler Toledo, which also launched a new optical oxygen sensor for high system uptime recently. The InPro6880i is used for measuring dissolved oxygen in fermentation processes, the company said.
