MHP Communications appoints new head of brands team

6th December 2017

MHP Communications has announced the promotion of Gemma Irvine to the role of head of its brands practice.

Ms Irvine has been named as the new leader of the team based on the considerable success she has enjoyed since joining the agency in 2008, having led the team who delivered the Missing Type campaign for NHS Blood and Transplant, which has received more than 60 awards to date, including PRWeek's Best Campaign prize for 2016.

Other notable campaigns to which she has contributed include the Shop Small initiative for American Express, the Chateau Peckham campaign for Laithwaite's and the launch of Baby Dove, which utilised AI technology to create an image of the "perfect mum".

Alex Bigg, MHP's chief executive officer, said: "Her track record of building trusted client relationships is outstanding; she understands how to stretch campaigns across the full spectrum of earned opportunities and deliver long-term brand transformation programmes."

This appointment marks the latest change to MHP's senior team since Mr Bigg joined last year, with Nick Barron joining as deputy chief executive in September, followed by the appointments of Andy Bloxham, Jamie Lyons and Mike Robb.
