MHP Health joint head steps down for new role at Bupa

20th February 2014

MHP Health's joint head Rupert Gowrley is stepping down from his position to pursue a new opportunity with private healthcare company Bupa.

He will depart the agency in April 2014, with Rachel Rowson – who currently leads the company alongside Mr Gowrley – set to take over his responsibilities. MHP has stated that it has no plans to recruit a direct replacement, reports PRWeek.

The pair took over the leadership of MHP Health in July 2013 following the departures of former health head and deputy head Mike Birtwistle and Sarah Winstone, who have since set up the new agency Incisive Health alongside Bill Morgan.

At Bupa, Mr Gowrley will become UK government affairs and sustainability director, a newly-created role that will involve leading government affairs and policy engagement spanning health insurance, care services, home healthcare and the sustainability agenda.

Mr Gowrley said: "Bupa approached me very recently and it was such a fantastic opportunity that I had to make a tough decision to leave somewhere I love, and the fantastic team at MHP Health."

This comes after MHP appointed Paul Naish, Nick Hoile and Anthony Houlden to new roles within its health practice team in December 2013.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801695661-ADNFCR
