Micromeritics move to new HQ

7th July 2008

Micromeritics has moved to a new corporate headquarters citing strong growth for the relocation.

The particle technology firm transferred its US head office to a recently purchased 140,000 sq ft facility in Norcross, Georgia.

According to the company, the new base will provide it with expanded manufacturing and customer service capabilities.

The firm said that though it did everything possible to ensure minimal disruption during the move, communication with the headquarters might have been difficult due to the computer and telephone equipment being off-line.

"Micromeritics regrets any inconvenience to its customers and [was committed] to keeping any disruption in its operation as brief as possible," the firm said in a statement.

Earlier in the year the business awarded an instrumentation grant to Tufts University.

The organisation was started by a graduate student called Warren Hendrix and his assistant Clyde Orr in 1962.

Its name is a term used to describe the science and technology of small particles, according to the firm.
