Millipore launches new filtration system

Millipore has launched a single-use bioprocessing filtration solution, which is designed to help speed up processes and reduce wastage.

The science company’s new Mobius Flexible Filtration system is centred on a disposable filtration system which features a ready-to-use, modular design that can be easily adapted to fit the needs of different sites.

As a result, the product can save biopharmaceutical manufacturers time and money by being easy to store and set up, while offering waste reduction benefits by preventing against excess inventory and inefficient implementation.

Vikas Gupta, group product manager for Millipore’s Mobius single-use products and services range, said: “We wanted to take a smart approach to single-use manufacturing and collaborated with customers to create a solution that addresses these and other common wastes.”

He added that this technology will also help companies to achieve faster molecule development, meaning drugs can be commercialised more quickly.

Last week, Millipore launched the Scepter handheld automated cell counter, a device designed to offer the functionality of a full-sized machine in a miniaturised unit.
