Millipore switches to Oracle for Serologicals

13th August 2007

Millipore has switched its newly-acquired subsidiary Serologicals to use the Oracle enterprise software solution, it has emerged.

Serologicals had previously begun to use SAP across all of its facilities worldwide.

However, Millipore claims that by switching to Oracle, the subsidiary may be better integrated into its own global operations.

Chief information officer Bridget Reiss explains: "Our continued investment in Oracle is clearly contributing to our vision of doubling in size by 2009.

"By replacing SAP with Oracle in our Serologicals division, we were able to ship 25 per cent more orders on the first day we were live."

She stresses the importance of "consistent and accurate data" among the numerous divisions of a company with global operations.

Some 1,000 users of SAP were migrated to the Oracle business suite following the acquisition of Serologicals in July 2006.

Millipore also grants hundreds of non-profit organisations each year financial assistance to improve their efforts in education and research, the company states.ADNFCR-1050-ID-18242874-ADNFCR
