Molnlycke study affirms effectiveness of ProcedurePak range

14th September 2010

Molnlycke has published a study which illustrates the operational and efficiency benefits hospitals can gain via use of its ProcedurePak custom procedure trays.

The study was conducted by Germany's Institute for Workflow Management in Health Care (IWiG) and monitored the efficiency and processes of several hospitals before and after adopting Molnlycke's product, which allows all single-use material required for surgical interventions to be packaged together.

It was shown that ProcedurePak delivers time savings of between 40 and 59 percent compared to traditional preparation, with improvements coming both in the operating room and at an administrative level.

The hospitals were then able to use this time to conduct additional procedures, provide more staff training or attend to patients' needs in a timelier manner.

Professor Dr Michael Greiling, founder of IWiG, said: "Custom procedure trays are a strategic tool for process improvement throughout the hospital. It has been shown that savings can be made throughout the entire material management process."

Earlier this month, it was announced that Investor AB has consolidated its stake in Molnlycke, meaning the healthcare company is now a 96 per cent-owned subsidiary of the firm.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800064028-ADNFCR
