MSD Animal Health appoints new poultry team member

7th June 2013

MSD Animal Health has announced the addition of Katie Pitman to its UK poultry team, which now consists of six members.

Ms Pitman will play a key role in providing technical services to UK customers, with a focus on offering targeted advice as they build strategies and manage health programmes, reports The Poultry Site.

The team is led by Jonathan Perkins and features three qualified vets, with Nicola Herron – administrator for the integrated livestock business unit – offering support.

Integrated livestock director David Schofield said: "The combined skills and experience we now have within the business enables the company to build on the high level of product support we have established."

Last month, the company's new product Bovilis SBV – the first effective vaccine to specifically targeting the Schmallenberg virus – was granted a provisional marketing authorisation by the UK's Veterinary Medicines Directorate.

The approval process for the drug was fast-tracked to aid efforts to combat the rapid spread of the disease across the UK.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801596491-ADNFCR
