Mylan reports double-digit growth in second quarter of 2017
Mylan has experienced double-digit revenue growth during the second quarter of the 2017 business year.
The company's revenue total for the quarter came to $2.96 billion (2.28 billion pounds), which represented a year-on-year increase of 16 percent. Strong sales in Europe and the rest of the world offset a decline in the performance of its US business.
Ongoing challenges in the US market have led the company to delay all of its planned product launches in this territory from 2017 to 2018. However, the firm still expects to follow a positive growth trajectory, thanks to the contribution of its Meda and topicals business acquisitions.
Heather Bresch, Mylan's chief executive officer, said: "Looking ahead, we continue to have great confidence in our underlying business in every region and the opportunities we have for long-term growth."
As a result of the planned product delays, Mylan is revising its 2017 guidance and now expects total revenues in the range of $11.5 billion to $12.5 billion, the midpoint of which would represents an increase of eight percent compared to 2016.
