Nestle reorganises infant nutrition business and leadership

15th November 2017

Nestle is to transition its infant nutrition division into a regionally-managed business to better capitalise on growth trends in this key market.

The company will set up a dedicated strategic business unit for infant nutrition as of January 1st 2018, which will manage core global functions including science-based innovation, quality management, compliance and global manufacturing capacity.

Meanwhile, nutrition business heads will be appointed for each of Nestle's three geographic zones to translate and implement the global strategy in local markets. These individuals will take operational and financial responsibility for their operations.

The company said: "The more agile and efficient structure will enable Nestle to respond faster to rapidly changing local consumer preferences, evolving regulation, and customer and channel demand for tailor-made solutions."

Heiko Schipper, deputy executive vice-president in charge of Nestle Nutrition, will leave the company at the end of the year, with the restructuring meaning he will not need to be directly replaced.

Nestle has also announced that its executive vice-president and chief technology officer Stefan Catsicas is leaving the company, with current Nestle Research Centre head Stefan Palzer to succeed him.
