Nestle reports strong organic growth in 2015

22nd February 2016

Nestle has expressed satisfaction after achieving profitable growth towards the higher end of the industry average during 2015.

The company's sales for the year came to 8.8 billion euros (6.86 billion pounds), which represented year-on-year organic growth of 4.2 percent and real internal growth of 2.2 percent.

Its trading operating profit margin of 15.1 percent was up ten basis points in constant currency terms, with underlying earnings per share rising by 6.5 percent. Key highlights of the year include the development of new platforms in nutrition, health and ecommerce, the turnaround of its US frozen food division and the disposal of non-core businesses.

In 2016, Nestle is anticipating a trading environment that is similar to previous years, albeit with even softer pricing than has recently been seen.

Paul Bulcke, Nestle's chief executive officer, said: "We expect to deliver organic growth in line with 2015, with improvements in margins and underlying earnings per share in constant currencies, and capital efficiency."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801813133-ADNFCR
