Nobel Biocare celebrates titanium anniversary

22nd July 2009

Nobel Biocare is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its use of specially developed high-performance titanium coatings on its entire dental implant offering.

Since they were first introduced to the market, the company’s proprietary cold-worked, commercially pure Grade 4 (CP4) titanium and its patented TiUnite surface have both been celebrated as being “exceptionally strong”, the company said.

In addition, the products have been clinically proven to enhance osseointegration.

“With innovations such as cold-worked CP4 titanium and TiUnite, Nobel Biocare continues to enable dental professionals to treat patients with less invasive, highly effective and safer implant treatment therapies,” the firm said.

It concluded by noting that it is examining new modular implant concepts for its small diameter and extra short offerings, with the intention of developing versatile new treatment options for use in challenging cases.

Earlier this month, the company announced that Dr Rolf Soiron intends to step down from his position of chairman of the board of directors by March 25th 2010, at the latest.
