Nobel Biocare presents positive trial data of implant technology

23rd March 2010

Nobel Biocare has published clinical data on one of its dental implant treatments which support its efficacy and cost-effectiveness.

Results from a five-year follow-up study of the All-on-4 treatment solution have demonstrated a cumulative survival rate of more than 98 per cent for both edentulous maxillae and mandibles, while evidence of favourable marginal bone remodelling was also observed.

The treatment involves full-arch restorations that are immediately loaded on four implants and is designed to offer predictable, evidence-based results.

These findings were published alongside those of a separate research which compared the company’s clinical study protocols favourably to those of two other implant manufacturers.

Nobel Biocare said these findings underline the fact that it “uses very demanding study protocols and is very transparent in its reporting of bone remodelling”.

Last month, the company published its financial breakdown for 2009, during which it experienced a revenue decline of 6.1 per cent.
