Nobel Biocare releases half-year financial results

25th August 2009

Nobel Biocare has posted its financial results for the first half of 2009.

The company’s gross profit for during this period was 240.9 million euros (210.3 million pounds), compared to 268.7 million euros in the same period of 2008. Nobel stated that cost-reduction measures, efficiency gains and pricing discipline had impacted positively maintaining its gross profit margins.

Profit earned from operations for the first half dropped from 92.7 million euros in 2008 to 64.7 million euros, although this, the company revealed, is down to lower revenues impacting upon gross profit. It also reflects a restructuring charge incurred of 9.5 million euros.

Chief executive of the organisation Domenico Scala commented: “Nobel Biocare remains a highly profitable company even in times such as these, with a focused strategy and well poised for any future market recovery.”

Last month, the company celebrated the tenth anniversary of its use of specially developed high-performance titanium coatings on its range of dental implant products.
