Norbrook Laboratories launches Closamectin Pour-On

Norbrook Laboratories has unveiled its latest piece of equipment on to the veterinary healthcare market – Closamectin Pour-On – the result of research spanning six years and costing 3.5 million pounds.

The product is a solution that is poured directly on to the back of animals and works to treat fluke, worms and external parasites.

Ideal for farmers whose meat-producing cattle are regularly exposed to parasites and fluke, the pour-on may provide a more convenient alternative to current treatments such as injection or oral drench.

“This is a very important milestone for Norbrook and for livestock and farmers worldwide,” explained Lord Ballyedmond, chairman of Norbrook Laboratories. “We have invested heavily in research and development and the results are there for all to see.”

According to the firm, fluke costs cattle owners around 17 million pounds a year collectively, as it reduces the weight of their animals, as well as milk production in cows.

Norbrook, which supplies over 800 own-brand products to 110 countries globally, deals in veterinary, chemical and medical items.
