Norbrook Laboratories to launch new series of cytology webinars
Norbrook Laboratories has announced the planned launch of a complimentary series of cytology webinars for veterinary surgeons and nurses.
Coming as part of the company's ongoing commitment to continuing professional development (CPD), the training includes a four-part series of dermatology and cytology webinars for surgeons, and two webinars covering practical cytology for vet nurses.
The schedule is set to begin on February 22nd with one episode each month until July 19th. The talks aim to demonstrate that cytology is quick and easy to perform in practice, highlighting sampling and staining techniques suited for different skin lesions.
Dr Tim Nuttall, a specialist in veterinary dermatology at the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, said: "Cytology should be performed in all cases to confirm the diagnosis of pyoderma before starting treatment. It plays a key role in reducing unnecessary antibiotic use. These webinars will describe how to perform and interpret cytology in practice."
The webinar series have been created in affiliation with Norbrook's new product Betafuse, a fusidic acid and betamethasone gel indicated for the treatment of canine surface pyoderma, including acute moist dermatitis and intertrigo.
