Norbrook launches new guide on gut worm control

3rd July 2017

Norbrook Laboratories has announced the launch of its latest CPD Bulletin, which contains practical advice for diagnosing and controlling health issues caused by gut worms.

The guide is accredited by the Animal Medicines Training Regulatory Authority and is designed to help veterinary professionals advise farmers on best practice parasite control strategies.

Included in the booklet are profiles of several of the most economically damaging types of roundworm and tapeworm, including Nematodirus battus – a species that farmers have recently been warned about, due to local egg-hatching risks.

It also offers insights into anthelmintic resistance, with advice on strategies to manage flock health whilst minimising resistance development.

Chris Geddes, marketing manager at Norbrook Laboratories, said: "The latest CPD Bulletin provides advice on careful product selection, designed to minimise resistance wherever possible. This – along with all other information in the booklet – is laid out in a clear, accessible way."

The booklet will be sent to all members of the company's ProCDP programme and incorporates a questionnaire that can be completed to earn continuous professional development points.
