Novartis appoints new senior comms professional
Novartis has appointed the experienced professional Mark Chakravarty to a senior role within its communications team.
Mr Chakravarty joined the drugmaker last month as its new head of pharmaceutical communications and patient relations, reporting to group head of comms Michael Willi, reports PRWeek.
Prior to this, he worked in Singapore as comms leader for Procter and Gamble's global baby, feminine and family care product portfolio, which includes brands such as Always, Pampers and Tampax. He first assumed this role in August 2013.
Mr Chakravarty's association with Procter and Gamble began in 1999, and during his time at the company he led the high-profile #LikeAGirl campaign for the Always feminine care brand earning plaudits from the Cannes Lions and PRWeek Awards.
His appointment by Novartis will see him working for one of the largest health and pharmaceutical companies in the world, with the firm employing around 118,000 full-time staff. Its recent agency partners include the likes of Havas Just and Ogilvy.
