Novo Nordisk and Glooko to create digital health solutions for diabetes
Novo Nordisk has announced a new collaboration with Glooko to produce a new range of co-branded digital health solutions for people with diabetes.
The non-exclusive collaboration will combine Novo Nordisk's diabetes knowledge and Glooko's digital platform and data analytics expertise to create personalised digital services to support people with diabetes across a number of areas.
These will include tools to aid treatment adherence and blood glucose management, while also assisting healthcare professionals in engaging and managing patients with the aid of population-wide data reporting.
Offerings will be integrated by Novo Nordisk within its digital health platform, developed with IBM Watson Health, providing the company with a broader range of insights into diabetes management and treatment outcomes.
Christian Kanstrup, senior vice-president for strategy, access and marketing at Novo Nordisk, said: "We are excited to partner with Glooko and to take another step towards delivering digital health offerings that help people with diabetes to improve their blood glucose control."
Glooko's existing population health platform for diabetes management enables patients to track and manage their condition using mobile, web and cloud technology, while its mobile health app makes it possible to synchronise data from many popular diabetes and exercise devices.
