NPA confirms appointment of new chief executive

15th February 2018

The National Pharmacy Association (NPA) has announced confirmation of the appointment of a new chief executive.

Mark Lyonette will be taking on the role from June this year, when he vacates his current position as chief executive of the Association of British Credit Unions.

Welcomed by NPA chairman Ian Strachan, he described Mark as an experienced leader of UK trade associations and membership bodies, bringing with him a vital understanding of how to lead a complex, regulated sector through a period of change.

Mr Lyonette stated: "It is an honour to have the opportunity to serve the thousands of independent community pharmacies who rely on the NPA to provide essential services, a strong voice and a vehicle for collective progress."

He added that he now looks forward to working alongside the board and executive team of the NPA to strengthen and develop this vital service for the body's members.
