Ogilvy UK names Michael Frohlich as new CEO
Ogilvy UK has announced the promotion of the firm's Europe, Middle East and Africa chief Michael Frohlich as its new chief executive officer.
Mr Frohlich takes over the role from Annette King, who left Ogilvy at the end of last year to run Publicis Groupe's UK operations. He will be tasked with integrating Ogilvy's diverse business units into the single One Ogilvy operating system being spearheaded by global chief John Seifert.
Mr Seifert welcomed Mr Frohlich to the role, describing him as "very outcome-orientated". He added that the new CEO "has a great creative mindset and leadership style" that will help the agency achieve its goals.
In particular, Mr Seifert outlined three key aims for the first year of Mr Frohlich's tenure as chief executive. These are to sustain Ogilvy's momentum in the UK, to drive home the One Ogilvy integrated operating system through a new brand proposition and identity, and to demonstrate the agency's greater accountability and value to clients through its work.
Mr Frohlich has not risen to CEO via a traditional advertising agency route, which Mr Seifert stated highlights Ogilvy's commitment to having people with diverse career experiences and a strong mix of talent.
