OgilvyHealthPR wins new Boehringer Ingelheim brief

9th June 2010

OgilvyHealthPR has won a contract with pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim to become the global communications agency for the drug Pradaxa.

The company will work with sister agency Ogilvy Healthworld Digital to develop a communications programme for the drug, which is a treatment for blood clotting, reports PRWeek.

It is the latest in a series of Boehringer Ingelheim accounts on which OgilvyHealthPR is working, with the agency also in charge of managing PR for its diabetes portfolio.

The new account is to be managed by London-based Deanne Wallace, OgilvyHealthPR’s business unit head.

Pradaxa is specified for patients who have undergone elective total hip replacement surgery or total knee replacement surgery and is marketed in more than 50 nations.

Last month, DMNews reported that the Ogilvy group is assisting Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals with a women’s health and history campaign, which is being conducted to mark the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the birth control pill.
