Olympus launches UC90 microscope camera with 4K mode

23rd October 2015

Olympus has announced the launch of its UC90 microscope camera, which provides users with greater clarity and detail than previous models.

The one-inch CCD colour sensor of the device offers a nine-megapixel resolution, providing a large field of view and perfect colour reproduction, and allowing for the creation fully detailed images.

Its new 4K ultra-high-definition (UHD) imaging mode ensures compatibility with the very latest monitors, large-screen TVs and projectors, allowing large, detailed images to be easily viewed and shared.

These advanced capabilities are complemented by features to maximise ease of use and convenience, such as the Focus Peaking tool that directly highlights all focused areas in the live image, and the Olympus Smart Image Averaging feature that cancels noise in low light conditions or high zoom levels.

Olympus has optimised the device to make it as easy as possible to maximise the information captured from life and materials science samples.

The company stated: "Merging quality with convenience, the UC90 makes it easier than ever to acquire accurate and detailed images throughout life and materials science, with its 4K UHD capabilities providing the next step in digital microscopy."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801803997-ADNFCR
