Omnicom PR Group appoints head of global health business development

Omnicom PR Group has announced the appointment of Paul George as head of global business development for its healthcare division.

Mr George currently serves as global director of health and wellness at Omnicom group member Porter Novelli and will be taking up this additional role in addition to his existing responsibilities, reports PRWeek.

He has worked within Porter Novelli's health practice for more than six years, having previously spent 12 years at fellow Omnicom agency FleishmanHillard as a senior vice-president and partner.

This appointment follows the recent restructuring of the PR firms operating within Omnicom's diversified agency services division, with former Porter Novelli chief executive Karen van Bergen taking charge of the unit.

Porter Novelli also made eight hires in leadership positions within its global health and wellness practice across the US, UK, Netherlands, Spain, Canada and Mexico last year, underlining the group's commitment to enhancing its offering in this area.
