Open Road and Blue Rubicon win new Cancer Research UK brief

12th August 2014

Open Road and Blue Rubicon have won a new contract with Cancer Research UK, one of the country's biggest medical research and awareness charities.

The agencies have been tasked with helping Cancer Research UK to shape their messaging and engagement programme in the lead-up to next year's general election. The aim is to capture the imagination of the public as a means of creating a stronger political voice.

Blue Rubicon – which acquired Open Road earlier this year – was already on the charity's social media roster and will now employ a new approach combining digital and political research with a creative approach.

Layla Theiner, Cancer Research UK's head of public affairs and campaigning, said: "Open Road and Blue Rubicon's integrated offer combines the policy and campaigning knowledge with the digital expertise we need to ensure we maximise our campaign's impact around the general election."

This comes after Cancer Research UK bolstered its own internal comms capabilities with the appointment of Laura Peters as its new head of PR last month. She is set to join the charity in September.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801741482-ADNFCR
