Oral Dent makes case for Periowave

Oral Dent has made the case for using its Periowave product as a way of treating periodontal diseases.

The company is keen to see dentists in the UK make use of its new solution to the oral health problem, which it claims is fast acting, safe and painless for patients.

Close to half of all people aged over 30 are believed to suffer from periodontal disease to some extent and the condition occurs as a result of bacteria infections and can eventually lead to tooth loss.

Indeed, Oral Dent insists that periodontal disease is the single most common cause of tooth loss in the UK.

“Periowave utilises a non-thermal laser light combined with a photosensitizing solution designed to kill bacteria associated with the diseases,” a statement from Oral Dent explained.

“Killing the bacteria halts the progression of the disease and allows healing to begin.”

Oral Dent is based in Britain and describes itself as being a specialist supplier of oral care products designed to reduce the need for “dental intervention”.
