Orthofix appoints interim chair of the board
Orthofix has announced the appointment of Kathleen Regan as the interim chair of its board of directors with immediate effect.
Ms Regan has been advising and investing in healthcare companies for the past 25 years and has been a venture partner of Radius Venture since 2010, while prior to this she acted as executive vice-president of Keystone Dental and as a consultant to Warburg Pincus.
Randy Thurman, the previous chair, has accepted a new executive position that requires him to limit his other professional activities. He has therefore resigned from the board, stressing that he has no disagreement with any element of Orthofix's business practices.
Ms Regan's new role also sees her become chair of the board's nominating and governance committee. The size of the Orthofix board will be reduced from nine to eight directors until the company can identify additional qualified candidates.
Brad Mason, president and chief executive officer of Orthofix, said: "Kathy is an exceptional leader in the healthcare industry and we have appreciated her financial, strategic and general business expertise and experience on the Orthofix board."
This comes after Dr Anthony Martin was appointed as a member of the board last month.
