Orthofix International launches new knee brace

17th August 2010

Orthofix International has announced the launch of a new knee brace from its sports medicine division Breg, designed to maximise airflow and optimise performance.

The medical technology firm's Fusion XT knee brace has been designed using the company's new AirTech technology, which will also be incorporated into future Fusion products.

It is a system of air mesh vents and grooved channel frame pads which provide airflow through the brace, allowing warm air and moisture to be diverted away from the skin while channelling cooler air in.

In addition, the brace includes durable and flexible pivot-point straps and is also optimised to minimise pinching and alleviate pressure point stress.

Alan Milinazzo, president and chief executive officer of Orthofix, said: "The AirTech system represents our continued focus on making the Fusion line of braces the standard in patient comfort, fit and compliance, and also demonstrates Orthofix's ongoing commitment to product innovation."

This comes after the firm announced a strong performance in the second quarter of 2010 last month, with sales increasing by four per cent year-on-year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800028013-ADNFCR
