Orthofix launches Construx Mini PEEK Titanium Composite Spacer System

10th January 2013

Orthofix has announced the launch of a new anterior cervical interbody device, the Construx Mini PEEK Titanium Composite Spacer System.

The new product incorporates a unique technology that combines the imaging capabilities of polyether ether ketone (PEEK) with the potential of bone ingrowth from porous titanium endplates.

These endplates provide a 3D porous material with the potential for bone ingrowth, thus facilitating the creation of a bond between the bone and the implant, while its PEEK core allows post and intraoperative imaging to be carried out without image distortion.

A total of three footprints and various height options are available to address the cervical interbody fusion solution.

Orthofix president and chief executive officer Robert Vaters said the release "represents the beginning of a series of product launches in 2013 that will bring our cervical implant product offering to the forefront of the industry".

The company also announced its preliminary financial results for 2012 this week, calculating that its net sales from continuing operations came to approximately $462 million (286.68 million pounds).ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801520434-ADNFCR
