Owen Mumford apprentice shortlisted for Manufacturer Award

Owen Mumford has announced that one of its tooling technicians has been recognised in the apprentice of the year category at The Manufacturer Awards.

Held at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham on November 27th 2014, the event saw Owen Mumford's apprentice tooling technician Mark Williams shortlisted for the accolade, in light of his contribution to the company and his outstanding personal progress.

Starting his apprenticeship three years ago at the age of 38, Mr Williams juggled work and educational responsibilities to learn about injection moulding tools, while also attending college once a week.

He completed his course in June 2013 and Owen Mumford hopes his example will be followed by other apprentices in future.

Paschal Doyle, operations technical manager at the firm, said: "Owen Mumford is keen to invest in associates with potential and the determination to succeed and Mark is an excellent example of someone who has made the most of the opportunity offered."

This comes after the firm was selected as a global growth company for 2014 by the World Economic Forum earlier this year.
