Owen Mumford introduces new Unistik Touch lancet

Owen Mumford has announced the launch of its new Unistik Touch lancet at the International Diabetes Federation World Diabetes Congress in Vancouver.

Incorporating the company's unique Comfort Zone Technology, the device is designed to be intuitive and easy to use. It features a series of eight raised dots on the end of the lancet, reducing the sensation of pain from the needle piercing the skin.

Research conducted through end user trials showed that Comfort Zone Technology reduced the pain experienced during the blood sampling procedure when compared to other devices without the same technology.

It is being made available in 18 gauge, 21 gauge, 23 gauge, 28 gauge and 30 gauge size options, making it suitable for a variety of applications.

Tania Mackenzie, senior global product manager at Owen Mumford, said: "Unistik Touch is our first touch-activated lancet, which is built on our already trusted platform, Unistik 3. Unistik Touch has been created specifically with the end user's needs in mind."

The Unistik Touch lancet will initially be introduced in the US, before later being rolled out to other markets.
