Owen Mumford launches new Ovaleap Pen for treating infertility

1st July 2016

Owen Mumford has announced the launch of the Ovaleap Pen, a new self-injection pen for the treatment of infertility.

The reusable pen has been designed for Teva Pharmaceutical Industries for the administration of a recently approved fertility treatment. It has been CE Mark approved and represents Owen Mumford's first device for the treatment of infertility.

Key features include a dial-back feature allowing quick and easy correction if the dose is set incorrectly, a side-button for easy injection administration, and a large dosage window with legible numbers to confirm the dosage size.

Meanwhile, its clear cartridge holder letting the user see at a glance how much medication is inside. Its reusable nature reduces the need to discard leftover medication and minimises pen wastage.

Sian Eden, account manager at Owen Mumford, said: "Ovaleap Pen is derived from our existing proven Autopen 2 platform … [and] has been developed with the end user in mind, supporting accurate dosage."

The company was recently nominated as a finalist for the sustainable manufacturing prize as part of the Cotswold Life Engineering, Manufacturing and Innovation Awards. The winner will be announced in September.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801821247-ADNFCR
