Parexel selected for Pfizer clinical development partnership

31st May 2011

Parexel has been chosen as one of two companies to provide clinical development services to pharmaceutical company Pfizer.

The biopharmaceutical services provider has signed a five-year agreement that will see it assisting Pfizer in the execution of clinical development programmes, using its proven clinical processes and eClinical technology platform.

Through this arrangement, Pfizer will be able to achieve greater speed and cost efficiencies while maintaining quality, with the partnership set to be implemented over a period of up to two years, commencing in June 2011.

John Hubbard, senior vice-president for worldwide development at Pfizer, stated that Parexel has been chosen for its well-established expertise and its dedication to regulatory compliance, as well as its "deep belief in collaboration".

Parexel's chairman and chief executive officer Josef von Rickenbach added: "Parexel is proud to be selected as a strategic partner and will work collaboratively with Pfizer to create significant value."

The other company selected for this new partnership arrangement, which will help Pfizer to simplify its processes, is the contract research organisation ICON.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800561713-ADNFCR
