Partners In Health & Convatec Collab on Enhanced Care Project

14th April 2023

Partners in Health (PIH), a global independent organisation focused on establishing democratized, accessible healthcare networks in deprived regions, has entered into a new collaborative effort with Convatec which will span the next three years.

250,000 people are set to benefit significantly from this partnership project, which will first concentrate on improving treatment for disadvantaged areas in Mexico, Peru, and the US.

In order to improve the treatment of chronic illnesses, PIH will look into novel approaches for educating and mobilising more than 1,000 Community Health Workers.

Convatec will contribute $2 million in funding to promote the success of the project, along with further backing in the form of product provisions, instruction courses, and advice.

The project will include promoting and enabling activities which will enhance care for communities in the aforementioned areas, which are presently operating with inadequate and inaccessible quality healthcare facilities and assistance.

Convatec’s Chief Executive Officer, Karim Bitar, explained that “Partners in Health does important work in communities to close the care gap and ensure access to quality healthcare.2 And that the collaboration “will help PIH reach and support more people living with chronic conditions.”

Dr. Shiela Davis, Chief Executive Officer at Partners in Health, expressed their gratitude for “for Convatec’s partnership” which aims to “to improve training and support for community health workers.”
