Pentax Medical hires new global president

Pentax Medical has announced the appointment of Ganesh Ramaswamy, who has been with the company since 2011, as its new global president.

The medical technology manufacturer's parent company Hoya Group has confirmed the promotion of Mr Ramaswamy, who most recently served as Pentax's senior vice-president for global technology and quality.

In this role, he led the transformation and globalisation of its research and development and quality functions, while prior to this he spent several years with GE Healthcare, serving in various strategic and operational roles in the US, Europe and China. 

He will help the organisation to continue delivering products that provide significant clinical and economic value to patients.

Girts Cimermans, chief operating officer of Hoya Group's lifecare segment, said: "Mr Ramaswamy brings a wealth of knowledge, insight and experience from the medical device industry and has a proven track record of delivering results through developing and implementing strategic and operational changes."
